Swimwearday at Thermae 2000

Thermae 2000 holds a 'swimwear day' every 1st Tuesday of the month.

On Tuesday 2 February, Thermae 2000 is holding its first 'swimwear day', and plans to repeat this every month. On this day, in addition to visitors to the pool, visitors to the sauna can also enjoy all sauna and pool facilities, in swimwear. On this first Tuesday of the month, it is obligatory for all visitors to wear a swimsuit.

In relation to wearing a swimsuit, there is much to do in the sauna. Supporters are not comfortable being in the sauna naked. Opponents find wearing a swimsuit in the sauna unhygienic and inconvenient. Thermae 2000 has taken the standpoint that going to the sauna was originally without clothing, partly for hygienic reasons.

Over the years Wellness practices have changed and today this is no longer seen as a trend, but rather as a 'lifestyle'. In this way, contact is made with various user groups who would like to learn more about wellness. Various user groups often have certain anxiety in relation to being undressed. The opportunity to experience the sauna in a swimsuit also gives ‘starters’ or, for example, couple friends or co-workers the chance to experience the advantages of wellness as a lifestyle choice.

Swimwear days are every 1st Tuesday of the month, from 9.00 am to 11.00 pm.

Otherwise: Thermae 2000 is currently carrying out research into the needs of its visitors, in relation to a day for being totally undressed, during which the thermal baths can also be experienced without swimwear.

With a surface area of around 60,000m2, Thermae 2000 is one of the largest wellness centres in the Netherlands. Visitors can enjoy indoor and outdoor swimming, saunas and steam baths, whirlpools, beauty treatments and treatment programmes. For more information, go to www.thermae.nl.
