FOURTH APOLLO HOTEL IN AMSTERDAM

Amsterdam, 31 March 2008 – Apollo Hotels & Resorts will be operating the new hotel that will be built at the Medical Business Park in Amsterdam. This hotel, located right next to the Amsterdam Medical Centre (AMC), will be a development project of M. Caransa BV and will offer 125,000m² of space for businesses that are active in the research and development of new medical products and technology.

With handing over a ‘work apron’ to the Amsterdam project development company directors Maurits Caransa, Salo Caransa and Patrick Langenberg, Bas Tolmeijer from Apollo Hotels & Resorts symbolically confirmed the contract that was just signed. The symbol of the young chain that was embroidered on the apron will also decorate the facade of the super modern hotel which will be open in 2010. The last of the modified drafts have been completed in the meantime and construction will start this summer.

Apollo Hotel Amsterdam AMC will have 231 rooms and long-stay suites, conference facilities encompassing 1,500m², and restaurant and bar accommodations. According to Francesco Monaco, co-owner of Apollo Hotels & Resorts, this is a unique acquisition for the fast growing hotel group: “The hotel will serve as a response to the fast growing demand for high-quality facilities of the many new businesses that are relocating to the Medical Business Park. Combined with the Apollo Museum Hotel Amsterdam City Centre, the Golden Tulip Hotel Apollo Amsterdam, which is also operated by our chain, and the Golden Tulip Amsterdam Vinkeveen, which is located on the A2, we are able to accommodate guests from all market segments.”

According to Maurits Caransa, the choice of cooperating with Apollo Hotels & Resorts was obvious. “We have an excellent and long-standing relationship with Willem-Jan van den Dijssel and – in the meantime – also with other board members of the group. Furthermore, we are also owners of the hotel in Vinkeveen, which we will redevelop together with AHR. The synergetic benefits will also be considerable through this cooperation.”

40 million euros is being invested in the new hotel. The company will be managed by Alexander Kluit, who recently began his function as director of the Amsterdam cluster of Apollo Hotels & Resorts.
