Best Western Apollo Museum hotel reaches the top

Amsterdam, 18 May 2009 – After months of building and renovation, the traditional ceremonial drinking beer after reaching the top of the building was celebrated today: the flag was raised at the top of the Best Western Apollo Museumhotel Amsterdam City Centre.

  “It is fantastic that we have reached this milestone: the outlook of the fabulous addition to the current facilities is good news for all our relations!”, reveals the General Manager Gönül Uyanik enthusiastically. She continues: “Following the takeover of the hotel by Apollo Hotels & Resorts in March 2007, we experienced a continuous rebuilding and building sequence. The monumental building’s exterior was returned to its original glamour, and the interior was transformed into an ultramodern boutique hotel. The exterior and interior adjustments combined with the centre location in Amsterdam, immediately resulted in an increase of the number of business visits. The increase was so heavy, that even in these economic challenging times we had to disappoint many relations. More available rooms, therefore means more satisfied guests!”.

 The new addition is realised by adding two additional floors to the existing building. Ingenious adjustments ensure that the works will be implemented with only a minimum of hindrance. From September the hotel will offer a total of 180 design rooms in the mundane centre of the city, resulting from these additional 53 new rooms.
